Hot rolled sheet is a product obtained as a result of reshaping steel at high temperature. This product, which has a wide range of uses, is more suitable in terms of cost compared to its alternatives. The product in question is used in many areas such as shipbuilding, machinery industry, construction sites, infrastructure and superstructure.

What is Hot Rolled Sheet?


Rolling is one of the definitions for the process of reshaping a material. Hot rolling is the reshaping of a material by raising it to high temperatures. Hot rolled sheet, on the other hand, can be expressed as reshaping the steel by bringing it to a temperature above 540 degrees, which is the crystallization temperature.

Heating the steel to a temperature above its crystallization temperature makes it fairly easy to work. At this stage, the heated steel is sent between the two rollers that are parallel to each other and the rolling process is performed.

After rolling, the steel must be allowed to cool to room temperature. Normally, the cooling process can occur more quickly with water application or similar methods. However, the use of such methods is not preferred as it damages the structure of the steel. For example; steel will harden and stretch when cooled with water. This may cause breakage in the inner and outer parts.

Hot rolled sheet or steel is more suitable for processing. It would not be wrong to say that such products are easier to weld and disassemble than their alternatives.

Although it is not considered warm to cool the heated steel with water, sometimes water can be used to cool the steel heated up to 950 degrees to 580-600 degrees. In such an application, it is of great importance that the steel is not lowered below the crystallization temperature.

• Manufacturing of steam boilers and heat exchangers in pressurized and hot environments
• Construction of pipes used in agricultural equipment

• Manufacturing of energy transmission lines, power plant construction, wind power generation equipment, wind and solar power equipment
